What's happening in technology, the web and all the news you need to know now. In a global village we all live in Youville.

I am very impressed with the Ning social network. Ning allows you to create your own social network, as many of them as you wish and it also allows users to control the programming to almost any desirable degree. I want to know where Robert Scoble gets the time and energy to do all the things he does. Here Scoble interviews Marc Andreessen and Gina Bianchini the Ning creators.
Winston Churchill said; "This is not the beginning of the end but rather the end of the beginning". He may have been speaking of WWII but the same could be said for the racing career of Secretariat. What a horse! Watch part 2 of this great moment in history.
Youtube is a premium teaching tool. History comes alive when the fastest thoroughbred of the 20th century wins the triple crown. Secretariat was faster than Man O' War, Seabiscuit, Northern Dancer and anything since. Youtube can offer it all. A history lesson and priceless moment in time, can be viewed by anyone today. Scretariat captured the attention of the world before the first "Oil Shock" of 1973 and before U.S. President Nixon was forced to resign, and before the end of the Viet Nam war.
This is a very interesting perspective on how small we are here in Youville or should I say... planet Youville!
I can't wait until Get Smart on DVD is released in stores for the first time this fall (2007). I'm showing my age but this was one of the best sit-com of the 1960s. It was a daring take-off on the funny aspects of a not-so-funny Cold War and the "intelligence" agents employed by the United States and its adversaries. Take a look at this early clip. The later color versions were even better. This clip is introduced by Mel Brookes who talks about how prescient the makers of the show were when they had the first phone ringing in a theatre. Cell phone are now ubiquitous but back then...?
I just love the way they sing this song. It is so 1965. You've got to love it too.
Another perspective on John Kanzius and his water into energy machine. Pass this on and let's create some buzz for this man.
This is the coolest demonstration of what possibly is the best way to generate clean fuel. It is so promising I may wait to install my geothermal heat system and wait until this technology is affordable. John Kanzius started searching for a cure for cancer. He found it he believes in radio waves but he found something else, limitless amounts of energy from the earths limitless amounts of saltwater. Stay tuned for this one.
This is a one minute video produced as part of the application process for the Google Teacher Academy about Web 2.0 tools. It was produced by my friend Carmen Dean from the Teacher 2.0 Network on www.ning.com
Here is a video which may change some perceptions about the world. Please leave your comments and feel free to share this.
