Fuel Efficient and Environmentally Friendly Unicycle Video
Here are a couple of dedicated unicyclists. All they need now are corporate sponsors and they will be in the big leagues!
What's happening in technology, the web and all the news you need to know now. In a global village we all live in Youville.
Here are a couple of dedicated unicyclists. All they need now are corporate sponsors and they will be in the big leagues!
This demonstration is just too good to pass up. Get started on Ning today. It's free.
I am very impressed with the Ning social network. Ning allows you to create your own social network, as many of them as you wish and it also allows users to control the programming to almost any desirable degree. I want to know where Robert Scoble gets the time and energy to do all the things he does. Here Scoble interviews Marc Andreessen and Gina Bianchini the Ning creators.
Winston Churchill said; "This is not the beginning of the end but rather the end of the beginning". He may have been speaking of WWII but the same could be said for the racing career of Secretariat. What a horse! Watch part 2 of this great moment in history.
Youtube is a premium teaching tool. History comes alive when the fastest thoroughbred of the 20th century wins the triple crown. Secretariat was faster than Man O' War, Seabiscuit, Northern Dancer and anything since. Youtube can offer it all. A history lesson and priceless moment in time, can be viewed by anyone today. Scretariat captured the attention of the world before the first "Oil Shock" of 1973 and before U.S. President Nixon was forced to resign, and before the end of the Viet Nam war.
This is a very interesting perspective on how small we are here in Youville or should I say... planet Youville!
I can't wait until Get Smart on DVD is released in stores for the first time this fall (2007). I'm showing my age but this was one of the best sit-com of the 1960s. It was a daring take-off on the funny aspects of a not-so-funny Cold War and the "intelligence" agents employed by the United States and its adversaries. Take a look at this early clip. The later color versions were even better. This clip is introduced by Mel Brookes who talks about how prescient the makers of the show were when they had the first phone ringing in a theatre. Cell phone are now ubiquitous but back then...?
I just love the way they sing this song. It is so 1965. You've got to love it too.
Another perspective on John Kanzius and his water into energy machine. Pass this on and let's create some buzz for this man.
This is the coolest demonstration of what possibly is the best way to generate clean fuel. It is so promising I may wait to install my geothermal heat system and wait until this technology is affordable. John Kanzius started searching for a cure for cancer. He found it he believes in radio waves but he found something else, limitless amounts of energy from the earths limitless amounts of saltwater. Stay tuned for this one.
This is a one minute video produced as part of the application process for the Google Teacher Academy about Web 2.0 tools. It was produced by my friend Carmen Dean from the Teacher 2.0 Network on www.ning.com
Here is a video which may change some perceptions about the world. Please leave your comments and feel free to share this.
We need to use data (electronic data) to learn because it is part of our neural network. I found this on www.ning.com where I belong to a social network called Classroom 2.0 Isn't this the way we need to be teaching; this is the way these digital natives learn.
Please add your thoughts by leaving a comment here. I genuinely value all opinions.
I love this Apple iPhone video. What an amazing unit. It makes me want to buy Apple stock. Then I keep watching and want to sell Apple stock short. Maybe I should do a straddle with put and call options to hedge my bets. Maybe... I'll just keep thinking about it.
Talk about social injustices. Take a look at this letter that was discovered by a lady who kept it for 70 years. They don't hire women because only men work there. That is why they don't hire women! Can you believe they would do that and actually put it in writing? They did not have the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1938.
I have contacted several heating contractors about installing a ground source heat pump in my home. I live in a 125 year old house on a large lot which could easily accommodate a closed loop, horizontal, slinky coil but no contractor has called me back. How much do these systems cost? They are free if you live in your house long enough and/or sell your home and recoup the initial cost. Aren't there any contractors out there who will contact me about installing one of these?
Watch this funny video about the features and benefits of the system.
This is something to save your money for and keep saving money and the environment by driving. It will also come in a wagon version. VW rocks.
I drive a new 2006 MK5 Jetta TDI and love it. I can't figure out why everyone doesn't have one. The amount of money you will save on the cost of fuel will pay for the vehicle over time. Audi is made by VW as is Lamborghini as well as Bentley. I'm certain that Volkswagen will be astoundingly successful in the future. Volkswagen controls more than 50% of the diesel marketplace worldwide. I would recommend buying the stock which can be purchased as an American Depository Receipt (ADR) from any good brokerage firm. The new Bluetec TDI engine will be available in January 2008 on the new Jetta in all 50 States and in all other countries which sell them. I couldn't find a video that demonstrated the new engine in a VW so I offer this one about an Audi. Enjoy the ride!
Here is a very interesting video about Creative Commons. Wouldn't it be interesting if we could simply build upon the past creations of humanity rather than attempt to create everything in a unique and different way all the time in oder to avoid violating copyright. We should be sharing alot more than most of us do.
Watch this very cool presentation by Michael Wesch, Assistant Professor of Cultural Anthropology at Kansas State University.
Here is a good article about companies to keep an eye on. You won't get in on the IPO unless you are an institutional investor or are on "The President's List" but the technology is usually interesting.

This is one of the funniest commercials I've ever seen. I have shown this to my marketing class and the students love it. I hope you do too. Pass it on.
The great thing about Web 2.0 is that we no longer have to spend as much time looking for good, useful stuff. We only need to stay connected to the right people who can serve as a filter in all the clutter we face every day.
Here is another fabulous clip from www.youtube.com about how difficult it is for people to accept and embrace new technology.
I think it is pretty cool.
We are all residents of Youville. Youville is an imaginary place name for our country home, hamlet, village, town, city or even the world. Youville is the Global Village. It is the place we all call home.
It is my goal here to create a fun place to build something which can be further expanded as input and content is added. I began with an idea which has bothered me for many years. Commuting is something so many of us do and it is getting harder and harder to continue doing as roads become more congested.
How can we get more cars off the roads? Carpooling seems like the obvious answer but it has one big problem. How do I find someone in my neighbourhood who is also going to the same area in the city where I work? I don't know anyone. The solution to this very simple, use a website which can aggregate like-minded people to find a ride. I have thought about doing this for some time but, like so many other people, just got too busy. Now I've noticed that other websites have sprung up.
These websites have one big problem though; they all seem to charge people money just to register. I'd like to find a place which anyone can access for free. In addition to finding like-minded people to carpool with, I imagine that it would be helpful to link to other information in any other city which has the same set of problems for commuters. It should be expandable to include information about traffic conditions in real time. Which cars are best for commuting? Are there good restaurants in this city? Big cities everywhere would get on board by spreading the word. Think of all the money cities will save by not building new roads to replace those torn up by all those single passenge cars. All this, before even mentioning global warming or climate change.
Maybe I can add some thoughts along the way on this blog. What do you think? I'd love to hear what you think!!! Share your thoughts.
Google has some great tools which can contribute to the task of finding carpool people. Google Maps is one tool. I imagine that if we need to find people in my area, Google Maps could locate them for me on a map. Google Maps can be used on handheld devices like Blackberry, Palm, Razr and almost any other handheld device.
