The Way Kids Learn and The Way We Teach Them

We need to use data (electronic data) to learn because it is part of our neural network. I found this on www.ning.com where I belong to a social network called Classroom 2.0 Isn't this the way we need to be teaching; this is the way these digital natives learn.

Please add your thoughts by leaving a comment here. I genuinely value all opinions.

Hi Mark,

a really interesting video, thanks for sharing it. And yes, I wholeheartedly agree that we need to embrace the pupils' own technology. Education should be 2-way, with us teacher learning from the pupils as well, and if this will allow us to further their learning, adapting our own selves to maximise learning potential, then so be it. Everyone learns differently, so how can teachers justify simply pulling the same old lesson plan off the shelf?

Hi Mark - it is an interesting video but frankly I didn't watch to the end - I got bored - it's a bit like death by powerpoint - just because it's on a screen doesn't make it interesting or interactive....

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your comments. I agree that teachers may want to rethink using the same old lessons from the same old shelf. The waters we are standing in are rushing by us far too quickly for us to be looking behind us. We always need to focus on what is happening now and what may happen around the next bend.
